NFL Football Lines and Odds: Jets Host Dolphins in New York

Things could get very interesting in New York if the Jets manage to lose tonight at home to the winless Miami Dolphins in the final game of Week 6 in the NFL. But the Jets are now 7.5-point favorites on Bodog Sportsbook’s NFL Football Lines and Odds.
It’s probably fair to call this a must-win for the New York Jets, who have dropped three straight, all on the road, and allowed at least 30 points in all three. There are reports of some disarray in the locker room. In fact, New York traded No. 3 receiver Derrick Mason last week to Houston despite being vastly thin at that position. Mason was reported to be one of a few players who complained to head coach Rex Ryan about offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. QB Mark Sanchez has struggled big-time the past two games but gets to face a Miami pass defense that is the second-worst in the NFL.
Miami enters off the bye, which should be an advantage, although the Fins will be starting Matt Moore at QB for the first time this season. The Dolphins lost starter Chad Henne to a season-ending injury in their 26-16 loss to the Chargers on Oct. 2. Moore is 10-13 as starter in his career, all with Carolina. His success could well hinge on the health of rookie RB Daniel Thomas. He has rushed for 202 yards in two games but missed that Chargers game due to a hamstring injury and is questionable for tonight. The Jets have the No. 31 rushing defense in the NFL.
The Dolphins have won four of last five meetings, including three in row on road. Last year in New York they won 10-6 on Dec. 12. The Fins only had 131 total yards and six first downs in that game. Sanchez was 17 of 44 for 216 yards and one costly interception for the Jets.
